Portable AppsWe are no longer supplying resource  DVD’s.  All students, faculty, delegates and administrators will be provided with secure cross-platform USB PenDrives pre-installed with the PortableApps suite and pre-loaded with your resource material.

Whilst the pendrives contain programmes to view content, below are links to updates, alternatives and support.  I’ve included a few videos to introduce new products. I hope you find them useful.

To interact and follow progress on our MindManager® map you’ll find a link in your resource area. Please feel free to contribute ideas. We will be changing to MindJet Connect, a similar collaboration tool, cloud based and requiring no viewer/plugin

 

 

Our video library is compressed using a variety of codecs.  If you encounter problems opening a file we recommend you use VLC the cross-platform media player and streaming server.

For many clips we have now switched to You Tube and supply links where relevant. The breadth of platforms VLC runs on is almost as impressive as the list of audio and video formats that it plays. It’s free software, so the price is right. Works on Windows, Mac OS X and just about any other operating system you can name

Large downloads and compressed email attachments are often in .rar format.  Use your favourite extractor to view or use 7-zip

You can use 7-Zip on any computer, including a computer in a commercial organization. You don’t need to register or pay for 7-Zip and it’s open cource.

 

 

 

 

 Our Virtual Tours are created using the FlashVR framework.  Cross browser and cross platform we’ve found it bulletproof with no plugins required.

From 2012 we are no longer using PGP encrytion, our Public Key has been retracted


 

 

Your resource material inevitably contains  Microsoft Office documents.  No MS Office?  No worries.  You could choose OpenOffice or LibreOffice, both free, but we lean towards LibreOffice from 2012.

Microsoft Word viewer. View, print and copy Word documents, even if you don’t have Word installed. If you are using Office 2003 or earlier or want to view our later .DOCX files be sure to install the Microsoft Office Compatability Pack for Word found at the same location.
